I reviewed the introduction. The problem in the US is that corporations are managed according to Milton Friedman's edict that it is the sole purpose of the officers and the corporation to make the most profit possible for the shareholders. It's up to the shareholders to decide whether they want to invest in societal causes.
I didn't read the intro closely. But although no federal or state legislation promulgated that edict which is correct, caselaw does.
