This is the cover of a book "With an elephant on his shoulders" I created for the Slovak artist Dušan Štraus, who spent two decades in the Sri Chinmoy community, part of those years as its head for Slovakia.
After losing his marriage and a significant part of his personality, he finally decided to leave the cult, find himself again and write a book about his experience, becoming a voice calling for caution against manipulation.
We tried to capture the sinister nature of the cult in the form of an obscure elephant that sits on the author's shoulders and prevents his freedom.
As this is the author's first work, it was important that the cover catches the eye. So we chose a striking minimalism with a simple and strong pictogram.
The novel is now also published in English under the title WITH AN ELEPHANT ON HIS SHOULDERS: The authentic story of an ex-leader of the Sri Chinmoy cult. You can find it on Amazon.
