this is how people also get slowly accustomed to the sun being blocked out. Last year during the summer the sky here was completely covered with checm-clouds around noon many (if not most) days in August. When I mentioned how absurd this is to MamaGrinder she simply replied "it's been like this for years" as if it was normal.
That's how fucked things are.
