A personal view: I've done my time in the slow/old computer mines and I'm not particularly eager to go back via retro-computing. For example, I like the readability of my 4K display and that it has more than 256 colours (never mind the fact that it's 27" diagonal but doesn't weight 100 lbs, yes I once had a big CRT display).
But everyone has their own weird hobbies that work for them, I say speaking as someone who biked over 100 km this weekend.
