the results of evaporating about 6L of atlantic seawater collected down at the beach at the opening of the Sao Vicente valley
today i will get to try it out on my lunch, i think... gonna try and hold off on eating until this is "grey salt" style dry... ie, a tiny bit damp but mostly dry
probably there is better places to collect sea water further from the outlets of waterways that drain through moderately urbanised areas but the amount of water that flows through this valley and into the river that opens out to the ocean is so great i was more concerned that it wouldn't be very salty and i'd get less than this
looks like i might manage to catch over 250g of salt out of my 6L of sea water, if this works out well i'm going to be setting up to harvest and reduce this down outside in a bucket with an aquarium heater to keep it nice and toasty while the wind blows away the vapors
possibly in future i will also first run it through a carbon filter just to be sure i've eliminated as much of the various pesticide residues and such that i'm sure are present in tiny amounts
