A lot of us readers are realizing that we need to do yet another author cleanup of our book shelves. I know it can be very difficult for book-lovers to just throw away books, so here's some useful ideas:
-Paper mache: easily cut into stripes for small projects, or tear out page by page for larger projects, make new art!
-Camping: a small paperback is light to carry, and can be used for kindling, writing notes on, pressing flowers, or emergency toilet paper.
-Secret stash: cut a hole in the center of the pages and use it to store items. Don't ever talk about or acknowledge the book, it's a secret now.
-Origami: The thin paper of older books is excellent for practicing on before you buy expensive, fancy Origami paper.
-Garden mulch: layer sheets to suppress weeds, or shred and mix in with soil to help it retain moisture and add nutrients.
