Today, Labour's bill to nationalise the remaining privately run railways gains royal assent, making it law.
Over the next year we are likely to see most if not all rail operators taken back into public hands.
Clearly the hope is that the crises that have engulfed the railways since privatisation can be reversed & a more reliable (European?) rail system can emerge.
If it works it may well play very well for Labour in the next election, if a transformation is not evident, it won't
