They also don't understand how quickly modern infrastructure and equipment breaks down when it's not maintained, as if it will be available decades after the fact for techno-medieval kingdoms to build on. Nope, unfortunately that's one way in which we do NOT mirror the Roman Empire...
Hopefully a value- based economy will see this turned around before too long.
