For an *active duty* member of the US armed forces to take up the most intense form of protest available - self-immolation -against the genocide in Gaza is an enormous rebuke to the Commander-in-Chief and to the US government as a whole.
This is unheard of (to me, perhaps someone else is better informed). I know of a couple of veterans who have taken this action, but not active duty.
