The house we now live in has been owned by three generations of the same family, and the basement was clearly not really utilized by the youngest generation. Most of the stuff down there belonged to the parents.

Today I finally got around to really cleaning it out. It'll be a trailer load to the recycling center on Monday, and we've saved what can be used.

I never realized how much mundane stuff left behind reveals about the various owners and their relationships.
