Ended a following-follower connection for the first time today on Mastodon after a spirited and I thought robust and well-evidenced discussion of #IsraeliWarCrimes. I did not initiate the cancellation, nor did I want it or our discussion to end. My European friend, after multiple spirited back-and-fourths, somehow distilled down to how if I was anti the #GazaGenocide and anti-zionist I must somehow be anti-semitic, an entirely spurious argument I’m hearing a lot these days. So he unfollowed me. But imo justice is justice and genocide is genocide - regardless of political labels. To bad…we had, I think, a lot in common until this morning’s discussion.
