I don’t disagree but I do also think there’s something positive about ‘citizen’ in those phrases that gets lost if we switch for ‘amateur’. Something about the act being undertaken for a broader civic good. And I know the point you’re making that professionals should have this in their motivations too, but they also get paid, which is another (competing???) motivation. Etc. I’m not being dogmatic here; I just think this is an interesting discussion.",
