What I always tell folks about "digital natives" is this: kids will learn the technology necessary to socialize with their friends, and that is what will come easily to them, because they're motivated to learn it. Everything else, they're either curious or not, just like any subject
There is nothing magical about being surrounded by technology that leads to innate understanding of it.
