Copyright (without registration) of original creations is actually automatic. It is recommended that the Creator visibly declares the copyright exists (under the Creator's name) before publication, alongside the publication date.

But even if you officially register your Copyright -- which can be done in North America and Europe -- you are still faced with the challenge of enforcing that Copyright ... if or when someone attempts to abuse it.

For several reasons, It is currently impossible to enforce Copyright in India, China, and the Philippines ... to name just 3. And I doubt that Copyright could be enforced anywhere in Africa. After all, Nigeria has been a world-leader in digital counterfeit operations for well over 15 years.

Therefore, your "African Creator" will have to focus on protecting his/her copyright in jurisdictions where it really matters.
