Achieving true artificial intelligence requires a number of breakthroughs and advancements in computer science, including the ability to understand natural language and the ability to process sensory input. Additionally, there needs to be a way to translate these signals into something a computer can understand. This includes being able to recognize nuances in language and create basic algorithms that can process these data points. Finally, heuristics, or more complex algorithms, are also necessary to process and distinguish data points and provide an AI system with independent thought and decision making capability.
