When I came out to my parents a few years ago, my father was absent (last minute emergency) so my mother told him what I had told her afterwards, and then he wrote me a quite cringey email which started with: "Your mother told me about your taste for feminization"

I felt quite bad from his reaction initially, but I showed the e-mail to a (then) lover and she started laughing so hard that I laughed too, and now it has become some sort of private joke with my lovers and friends: when I take my HRT I say I'm "indulging in my taste for feminization"

(Now things are much better with my parents. Not perfect, but better.)
