#Russia channel Romanov posted a video of their column of vehicles destroyed in one of the assaults on Avdiivka in November.

Several #Ukraine and Western analysts (Kofman, Muzyka) noted that Russians have significantly reduced use of large mechanized columns in their assault on Avdiivka, specifically after they were easy target and suffered huge losses. Instead, they switched to small infantry groups, mirroring Ukrainian change of tactics after the initial failure in Zaporizhzhia offensive in June.

Notable difference is that while Ukrainians are cautious about infantry losses, Russians aren't. Many analysts are surprised by repeated Russian zerg rushes as it's hard to believe that their infantry, also suffering huge losses, still willingfully copycats "Wagner" tactics from Bakhmut. I don't think that does matter at all — the fact that we don't understand how they do it is irrelevant and can be attributed to alien psychology.

What does matter is that they continue these human waves and, most importantly, whether they have result. Russia is certainly going to sell these losses as "necessary sacrifice" as they did in Bakhmut... as long as they have result in capturing Avdiivka, which as of now is a huge unknown even for seasoned analysts. If not, the battle will be likely erased from collective memory just like siege of Vugledar was.
