Most South Africans know about Lesotho because Lesotho is a country that's completely surrounded BY South Africa. It's also got a ski resort, where many of us go during winter holidays, and some people even actually commute there (or live there and commute here).
It's just the hubris of the man: "... a country which nobody has heard of."
I mean, come on, really? The arrogance. I can understand the Lesotho foreign minister's offense, in this article.
There's even a US embassy in Lesotho, for Pete's sake. You'd expect a head of state to be familiar with the existence (at least) of those countries which their country has diplomatic relations with. 🙄
