Products suck. I love making things, like custom keyboards, handheld game consoles, or small robots. But once you make it, what do you do with it? It would be nice if other people could also build it and play with it, and maybe improve it, or at least be able to play the games you wrote for that handheld. So you make one more iteration, avoiding any custom or scavenged parts, simplifying the construction, documenting each step and cleaning up the code. You make a product, and your project dies.
