I am now exploring buying a single Elecraft KX3 with the amplifier and panadapter for use in every situation instead of buying two IC-7100s, one for home and one for portable. The KX3 system is much more expensive on its face, but totalling up the costs involved with duplicating an IC-7100 system make the KX3 system competitive. I also think the KX3 form factor may be more useful in more situations.
