The Italian painter Salvatore Garau 🇮🇹 sold an invisible painting for more than $18,000 at a public auction attended by dozens.
As for the buyer, the only tangible thing they will receive is a signed and stamped certificate of ownership from the artist, as the painting does not exist and cannot be seen. The purpose is to stimulate the viewer’s imagination. 😌
This is not the first invisible artwork the artist 👨🎨 has sold. He previously sold blank canvases ◻️ without painting anything on them, with each piece selling for $9,000. He stated that the paintings represent emptiness.
The artist also requested that the invisible sculpture be placed in a private home within a space measuring 5 feet in length and width. He is now preparing to open his exhibition in New York, where he will display nothing but non-existent paintings!
