On a similar, but connected note: The number of insects buzzing about in the summer has seriously decreased already over the years - certainly where I live. Yes - nice for the windshields of the car. No - bad for pollinations and food for birds etc. (It's more complicated than I make it out to be here, of course.) Already an economic issue for some food producing industries.
