I spent most of my life exclusively listening to varying shades of metal, then I got into anime and I started listening to anime music which got me into bands like you mentioned (I'm assuming by "japanese waifu rock" you mean Band-Maid and Ladybaby?), then I mostly got back into metal when I fell out of love with all things weeaboo, including asian chicks. I can't even look at asian chicks anymore without a deep sense of shame for crushing on them since my teens, like a deeper kind of embarrassment one feels when they see the cringy shit they wore or listened to or believed in (politically, religiously...) as a kid. Hell I can barely look at anime or Japanese video games without cringing because I sunk a huge chunk of my life being a massive simp for slanty-eyed faggotry. But I digress.
