This telescopic image features the Tulip Nebula in Cygnus, 8,000 light-years away and 70 light-years wide. Ionized by ultraviolet radiation from nearby stars, including O star HDE 227018, it glows red. The field also includes microquasar Cygnus X-1's curved shock front beyond the nebula.
