It also goes from small repeatitive inconvenience to a major blocking problem when sites do not handle errors or even provide a captcha to complete.
In particular password login endpoints that throttle, or block, based on IP address and throw 403s with no alternative. It then becomes a minigame of guess the VPN connection that isn't blocked.
Many of these sites likely would be the last to adopt a newer alternative, however Nostr solutions can just avoid this entirely and have built-in throttling with sats, zaps, ecash and etc. Much better UX.
