Lightning is the connective tissue for cashu. Cashu improves security and privacy when using custodial lightning wallets. Wallet of satoshi should be upgrading to an e-cash internal ledger or they will be obsolete, for example. Cashu, in no way replaces your own lightning node, nor holding your L1 btc in cold storage.
