The EU Commission has reelected Ursula von der Leyen as its president, voting in favour of the staunch supporter of Israel who, 9 months into Tel Aviv’s devastating offensive in Palestine’s Gaza, has avoided blaming Israel for the staggeringly high death toll among Palestinians.
Under her leadership the Commission also froze funds to Palestine immediately after the Hamas attacks but reinstated the aid following severe backlash and public chastisement.
