I was arguing with a European the other day about how taxation is theft. (My mistake). He told me he believes that the more you earn the more you should be taxed. Conveniently he lives outside of his tax jurisdiction and earns substantially more than his peers while paying almost zero taxes. I think for most people they view taxes as a way to get other people to pay for their standard of living. They think its a positive sum game where they will get out more than they put in. Of only they play their cards right and vote for the right team.
