Seems like nobody tried to make modern, non-broadcom replacement cards for intel-based Macs
Given how terrible they are in Linux and Windows, and that those machines are reaching EOL... maybe it's a good idea to make one?
Intel seems to be making modules like AX210D2W, which would work just fine and bump specs to WiFi 6E + BT5.2 (0 in the name is important, as 210 is PCI-E and 211 is CnVi, which royally sucks). I doubt a simple adapter would fit due to custom connector and design of the logic board.
It would breathe new life into those systems, as they're literally unusable - no WPA3, no WiFi 5 (over channel 42), Bluetooth also doesn't work (last time I tried to use it with WH-1000XM4, I had a very bad time).
Maybe I can nerdsnipe someone at C3 who has more PCB design experience than I do, will likely bring a 2015 15in MBP with me
