Exactly! we would functionally be designing the entire platform again from the ground up. Hence why some have spent hundreds of thousands to dredge up sunken engines to study them. What I'm really curious about the F1 is that I've read they achieved a (maybe partial) rotating detonation engine. And then engineered around it as materials science wasn't there and the engines kept exploding.
