Something I've been noticing as I design Interactive Widgets is that thinking of them as Apple Watch apps is a great place to start in terms of philosophy and design. They are physically a very similar size (for systemSmall size at least) and both are structured around a concept of lightweight, momentary interactions.
A few of my best ideas so far have come directly from my work in Watchsmith (even bringing over some of their code too).
