There's a new HIV PrEP drug which you get as a shot twice a year. Apparently they did a trial with 5300 Ugandan women age 16 to 25. 2000 got this drug and zero of them contracted HIV.
They tested 2 other medications too on 1000 and 2000 people. Which had 16 and 36 new infections.
The one with 36 in 2000 isn't even better than the background of people taking nothing.
So it works better than things as pills you take daily or a monthly shot.
And they are doing more other studies.
