Got an email from Stanford Healthcare saying they owe me a refund. That’s plausible. It sends me to a non-Stanford website I have to register at huh. And then I have to put in my PII. What? Well, that’s mostly public info. And then I have to put in either my bank info or credit card. What?!
Turns out it's a real thing, as Kagi was able to find on a backwater FAQ page on Stanford’s site. It’s legit. It just felt more like an extended phishing test.
