What I don’t get is TikTok is showing Americans content to the rest of the world but now don’t have to pay the American creators.

Apparently TikTok decided to disable all accounts associated with Americans, not just use in the US. I had to delete the app and reinstall it creating a new user in order to get back in from NZ. It’s weird because I’m pretty sure the account I was using was created in after I moved to NZ three years ago. Anyway. I’m back in and TikTok is now free from the influence of Americans.
