It speaks to me as both a former middle school teacher, and as someone who bounced hard off of the C++ in my intro CS course because WTF are all these pointers and other broken abstraction boundaries between the part of the system I care about (the logic) and the part I don't (the hardware).\n\n(i'm now a software engineer but it took another decade, and python)",
