Many commenters have said that morality has no place in any discussion of racial separation in America. They want to expel all descendants of slaves: “They came in chains; they can leave in chains.” That reasoning might be good enough for people of any other race, but not for whites. For millions of whites to agree to physical separation—and it won’t happen unless millions agree—they will have to think it’s fair. Call that a weakness if you want, but that’s the kind of people we are. Incentives yes; expulsion no. In Europe, discussion of remigration of unassimilable citizens is about incentives, not expulsion. Non-citizens can easily and rightfully be made to leave.
