Google has demonstrated contempt for customers who bought its most expensive phones, some of which were bricked after a flawed software update.

The fix is, for most users, a technical and likely difficult set of manual steps. This is slightly better than nothing, but it's fundamentally unconscionable.

Google should recall the phones and fix them itself, promptly.
