Your cats are travelling and you are their chauffeur

Travelling with cats requires daily compromise and sacrifice.

Lose the mindset that you are on a fabulous road trip and forget making a list of all the things YOU want to see and do. You are not a tourist.

View your road trip as places your cats can experience and accept that you aren't on an Instagramable adventure.

With responsibility comes a truckload of boredom.

You cannot:

Visit national parks and other places that forbid animals
Visit museums, galleries, and other tourist places
Enjoy a nice lunch in many cafes, pubs, and restaurants

I could go on, and on, and on, but I think you're building a picture.

You'll also have to think about strategies to enable you to:
get your car serviced and other appointments (I have a lovely B&B I regularly stay at for these things)
buy food and other supplies

Summer is also super-tricky. You cannot leave your cat in a hot car. What you can get away with doing in the depths of winter (a dash for essentials when parked in an undercover carpark) you cannot contemplate in summer.
