Once upon a time, I ran a public access Unix from a 3B1. My 3B1 had the dubious distinction of being the first System V machine that CNews ran on, and I know this for sure because it prompted an emergency CNews patch. You see, in System V, 'ln a b' doesn't fail if b already exists. Guess what CNews was using for a shell locking operation?
That was a fun explosion. But I have fond memories of that 3B1 (which I still have, I'm a packrat).
