npub12lxtr540euchz3wpu4l745spze9fesue5lcentzceegq04ftzzxsajjvjy (npub12lx…jvjy) It's a bit discouraging but honestly, I personally haven't had much of a reason to be on Twitter (I'm not calling it X).
Only reason to check Twitter is for official gov't accounts & that's about it. If Environment Canada had a fediverse presence, I'd probably wouldn't bother with Twitter anymore.
As for why people are moving back, network effect is a very powerful thing. There's a reason why in the US, iMessage dominates, same is true for WhatsApp in other countries. Elon was willing (whether it was a dumb idea or not) to pay $44 billion, is really for that network that people can't get enough of.
As much as people say it's for the likes, it's really about that network. People have invested into it for many years, it's hard to let go of it even when there are better alternatives like the fediverse.
