A little backstory: A dear friend has recommended this book to me FOR YEARS. For those who aren’t familiar, it’s a series & there’s a Netflix show as well (which I haven’t watched b/c I want to read it first). Anyway I’m not really drawn to books with witches, vampires, etc. That being said, I’ve read a few books by Anne Rice, so I’m not opposed by any means. One day about 2 yrs or so ago I find a deal on the first 3 books for my Kindle for 1.99 for all 3, so I buy them. Finally I decide to read them about 2-3 months ago. Lo and behold, the download is messed up, which has never happened in all of the years I’ve had a Kindle, which is well over 15 years. I decide to try and put just the first book on hold at my library (for my kindle), well the wait is crazy long, I’ve yet to get it. When my sons asked what I wanted for Christmas, I told them 2 different titles, this was one of them.
