It's very unlikely to cause diabetes longterm. Given Inuit and other northern latitude indegenious people are carnivore most of the year and don't have any of these issues.
Do we know anything about his environment, his circadian rhythm, sunlight exposure etc.
I'm not carnivore and probably less than ideal for most people
