People say autism is a superpower, and it can be if directed in a positive manner.
But more often then not, I find myself saying, “Why am I doing this crap?”
There’s no material or social benefit. Presumably, I enjoy it – which is a good reason to do it – but at a certain point, it can become a hindrance.
Hyperfocus is great. What’s not so great is realizing that you haven’t left a chair for 12 hours and you’re hungry.
Thankfully, my smartwatch nags me to get moving, and I take its advice.
