Exposing the cleat plate was a ridiculously complicated affair. I had to double-check that I wasn't destroying the sole of a shoe without the capability. I had to cut out the insert with a razor and pry the remainder off its glue when every other SPD shoe has placeholder screws. WHY, Specialized, why? The hazards of an impulse purchase. I re-used the cleats from a pair of shoes I almost never wear instead of installing new ones as punishment. #bike #commuter #shoes
