I see a lot of pages about "how much will it cost to run a heat pump vs gas." They estimate heating/cooling hours based on your location, use SEER ratings and stuff, and come up with vague numbers.
But if you _have your gas bill_ and an efficiency rating for a gas furnace, the question is basic thermodynamics? Like, your place required this many BTUs of heat input in the winter including losses; heat pump could've made that with this many kWh.
