They come and go on their own, you don’t know who made them, what logic was built into them, what their intention is, or if they would still be the same tomorrow. They truly represent hyperobject sociotechnical systems that one human being simply cannot comprehend. Is the Facebook app listening to you? Probably. But does it matter whether it does or not?
