today #catstr was inside all night and of course he needed to do poopies and wee wees and this morning i was watching him on the kitchen mat and saying "what *are* you doing mochi" and then after i saw him doing post poopy leg flapping rituals i was like, ohh...
sure enough, a big poopy in the middle of the kitchen mat, so i took it carefully over to the toilet and threw it out, and washed down the mat on both sides with cold and then hot water
mochi clearly has decided he likes this indoor thing and this morning he was clearly agitated and mewing and looking back and forth and i even put him outside on the window sill and closed the window and he just sat there, developing a drippy nose and so i let him back in again
i mean, can't really blame him for deciding outside is a bad deal... when inside he gets food and pats and no fights with other kitties or ticks or anything nasty except confusion and unfamiliarity
well, since it will be a lot easier if i can pull this off, now he has shatted on that mat i'm going to put the mat in position after it dries, it won't smell bad to me but mochi will recognise it was the poopy place and i'll put it over top of a trashcan that is in the bathroom that i never use, right next to the edge of the toilet, so that as he walks past it, i'll drop him near it a few times to give him the memory/impression of this tainted mat, and probably put him up on it in the appropriate position for his business and maybe he'll try it
if i can get him to use the human toilet for his business this will be huge because in a ship he will also need a toilet place and the one i use is the ideal for the cat to also use
i suppose in olden days they had squat holes and some kind of bucket underneath that you open up the top hole trapdoor and take the bucket and toss it off the side of the ship and then return it after rinsing it in sea water, maybe you also had to scrub the platform as well so it doesn't stink too bad... and yeah, would have been pretty easy to have a jug to use that was filled with sea water since sea water is fine for washing in this case maybe just a bucket and a smaller vessel you fill and use this way
anyhow, yeah, so the story continues, the cat has definitely decided he likes it in here and doesn't want to be sent outside
i love kitties and this one and me are getting along pretty well, i think after a few days his sinus infection will clear up from not being stuck in the cold and damp all the time with the ticks sapping him and contaminating his blood
i'm also pretty sure he doesn't have any fleas, because honestly i don't feel like there has been any extra biters since his arrival, i mean, it's a wild cat living in a seaside paradise, probably there just isn't any fleas because he's obsessively clean and not stuck in places where a dirty stray dog is sleeping or anything, who is more likely to have them
which is good too... anyway, next pay he's getting the full treatment from the vet, i will book him in and make the trek over there on foot, get a carrier, come back here to the house, put him in and return to the vet for his full exam and treatment, get him the antiparasitics and i'm gonna preload the vet with the idea they need to give him a dental exam and maybe do an extraction due to the tongue drool, but it may just be the cold causing this, and also 100% he's getting his manhood removed, sorry but it just makes life a lot easier and i don't need him spraying, he isn't spraying yet, and if he's got no nuts he will never spray, nothing worse than the smell of a house with a spraying male living in it... he is quite neurotic so i imagine if he were to hit puberty he might get nervous and start doing it in here and that would just be awful
