You can't get a scalable business model in podcasting because a few high-quality people with a few thousand dollars of equipment is all you need to make amazing work.
It's the same thing with accountants or mechanics: after initial startup costs, staying tiny cuts out management costs, meaning the critical mass for a podcast is ~5 people.
I also have a hard time believing anyone would WANT to hang out with most celebs every week. We pay them to look good, make music, or be funny.
