As an autistic person, the thing that bound me to my former religious beliefs wasn't the usual authoritarianism and loyalty prized among Christian fundamentalists.
It was theology. It was the pursuit of precise, vigorous, "correct" expressions of doctrine. That drive moved me through several traditions, eventually landing on Calvinism.
