- The comparison to Castro Halloween is not super valid. If the bars in the Castro shutdown and there's no organized activities, the appeal of that event is significantly diminished. There's nothing comparable for Dolores hill bombing.
- I can't imagine how PD outreach to sk8rs would happen. The skate community is careful to keep precise info on the hill bombing hard to find for outsiders precisely because they know there will be a response.
- The hill bombing is enormously popular with the skate community, and photos/videos of it generate massive engagement on TikTok and Insta, so there is real incentive to do it.
- Activities during the hill bombing may be illegal, but what the wealthy residents driving the response say - that it's "thoroughly illegal" - is wrong. Skateboarding on public streets is legal. Even if it's a hill.
